Scorsese and DiCaprio already have two projects in the works, the aforementioned ‘Flower Moon’ and “The Devil in the White City”  The summer 2019 date for production of ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ means that Scorsese will most likely be done editing his upcoming gangster drama “The Irishman,” with long-time collaborator/editor Thelma Schoonmaker, by then.  A possible Cannes premiere in the works? “Killers of the Flower Moon” is a “crime drama set in 1920s Oklahoma, where the Osage Nation discover oil under their land, only to find themselves being murdered, one by one. As the death toll rose, the newly created FBI takes up the case and unravels a chilling conspiracy and one of the most monstrous crimes in American history. Based on the David Grann’s book, the film will be Scorsese and DiCaprio’s sixth collaboration together, after “Gangs of New York,” “The Aviator,” “The Departed,” “Shutter Island,” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Meanwhile, “The Irishman” starring Rober De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci will be distributed by Netflix later next year.
