“Mindhunter” has Psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv), FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany further probing the psyches of murderers. A second season is about to premiere on August 16th on Netflix and we have our first look at what to expect. From its first frame, you can just tell this is a David Fincher affair; the slick and yellow-ish photography and the all-too-controlled camerawork are on full display here. Not to mention, the dark and elegiac atmosphere. Just like last season, David Fincher directed 4 of this season’s 10 episodes. He’s also not released a movie since 2014’s “Gone Girl.” For us Fincher fans, this is the closest to to a “David Fincher movie” we are likely going to get until his Herman Mankiewicz biopic is released in 2020/2021.
