Warner Bros. released the trailer for “auteur” Wilde’s film last month and the whole thing gave me weird vibes. Wilde is clearly going for social commentary in this sci-fi film. There’s definitely a “Stepford Wives” vibe going here as well. Wilde raised some eyebrows at CinemaCon by comparing her film to “Inception”, “The Matrix” and “The Truman Show.” Talk about raising expectations. However, if you’ve read the screenplay, which has been on Hollywood’s famous blacklist for a few years now, then you “get” why she would compare “Don’t Worry Darling” to those films. I won’t say more. Wilde is coming off her critically acclaimed debut “Booksmart”. Contribute Hire me
